Carved jade figure ‘Qilin’, Qing Dynasty - A light-coloured carved jade with reddish flecks. It depicts a beast, known in Chinese mythology as ‘Qilin’, reclining on its four bent legs. It has a robust body, broad hooves, a long curled tail and an erect head crowned by two antlers. The expression is fierce, with large eyes and open jaws, showing the sharp fangs.
