Bamboo brush container, Qing dynasty - A cylindrical vessel made from a reddish-coloured bamboo segment, with visible veins and a polished surface. It has a slightly irregular shape at the mouth, typical of the natural section of the cane. The interior shows wear from use. The base retains its original structure, with marks of use and traces of patina. This type of object was intended for storing brushes and was common in the writing desks of literati and scholars.
