Jade seal ‘Dragon’, Qing Dynasty - A carved jade-stone seal depicting a reclining dragon. The mythological creature is depicted in an alert pose, with its head erect and mouth open, showing its fangs, pointed ears, prominent beard and mane carved in high relief. The forelegs are raised and decorated with well-defined claws, while the body shows undulating details. The base is rectangular in shape and has reddish-orange streaks on the underside and sides. On the underside is engraved ‘爱日斋’ in seal calligraphy. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later. Size: 4.9 x 1.7 x 3.1 cm Weight: 52.2 g
