Bronze vase with cloisonné enamel ”Dragon”, Qing Dynasty - A gilt bronze vase with a bulging body, elongated cylindrical neck, and circular base, decorated with brightly coloured cloisonné enamel. Two elaborately crafted handles in the shape of gilded dragons stand out on the neck. The enamel decoration, arranged in superimposed horizontal registers, displays symmetrical motifs of stylized flowers framed in rectangular cartouches, multicoloured ruyi clouds, and groups of bats flying among the clouds against a sky-blue background. The cloisonné technique is applied with great precision, creating a dynamic visual effect thanks to the contrast between the opaque enamels and the metallic background.
