Khmer figure “Female deity,” mid-11th century - Sandstone sculpture representing the torso of a female deity, characteristic of the Baphuon style. The figure, standing upright and serene, sports an elaborate hairstyle gathered into a high cylindrical bun and large earmuffs. She wears a traditional long skirt or sampot, cinched at the waist with a decorative belt. Despite erosion and the lack of arms, the piece retains the elegance and grace characteristic of its style.
