Yellow jade disc ‘Bi’, Eastern Zhou dynasty - Archaic ritual disc made of jade or bi. The piece is carved from a yellowish stone, which shows large areas of dark brown discolouration caused by the natural passage of time. Both sides are finely decorated in bas-relief with a dense pattern of C-shaped scrolls and spirals, all in an archaic style.
