Bidspirit auction | Chinese painting ‘Cranes with Flowers

Chinese painting ‘Cranes with Flowers and Pine Tree’, signed Zhou Zhimian - Pigments and ink on silk, mounted on brocade silk. The composition shows two red-crowned cranes beneath a gnarled pine tree. On the right are large peony and lotus flowers, emblems of wealth and prestige. On the left side is the inscription 万历丁亥秋日周之冕写, next to a red seal ‘周氏服卿’. Zhou Zhimian (1521-?).  Size: 79 × 36.5 cm; Size with frame: 203 × 50.5 cm
