Agate Dizi Bead ‘Banzhu’, Liao Dynasty - ‘Banzhu’ bead (板珠), made of greyish agate, with areas of ochre tones and natural milky white bands arranged in concentric circles forming an ‘eye’. It is circular, with rounded edges and a convex profile, and a flattened back. It has a transverse perforation and patina due to ageing. Liao dynasty (916–1125) or later.
