Blue-glazed ceramic bowl, Ming Dynasty - A monochrome Chinese porcelain vessel, deep in form with a wide rim. It has a bulbous, rounded lower body that tapers at the waist before flaring out into a broad neck and a flared rim. It is entirely covered in a deep cobalt-blue glaze, known as ‘sacrificial blue’ or ‘imperial blue’. The base bears a six-character mark (大明嘉靖年制). Ming Dynasty (1368–1644).
