‘Bats’ globular porcelain vase, Qing dynasty - Underglaze-enamelled porcelain, in cobalt blue and copper red on a white background. It has a spherical body, topped by a long, straight cylindrical neck. Decorated with a design of red bats flying amongst stylised clouds. The bats are depicted flying over a landscape of rocks and churning waves at the base. The neck is adorned with bands of ruyi symbols, clouds and flowers. On the base, it bears the six-character mark ‘大清乾隆年制’. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912). Height: 34 cm; Mouth diameter: 7.5 cm; Base diameter: 10.5 cm References: Bonhams.
