Rhomboidal white jade vase, Qing Dynasty - Hetian jade of an exceptional white hue. It has a stepped rhomboidal shape, comprising a central body flanked by smaller sections, creating an architectural silhouette. The decoration, executed in bas-relief, features archaic scrollwork and dragons that wrap around the central body. Of particular note are its six handles carved in the round in the shape of mythical beast heads, from whose jaws hang movable rings. The piece rests on a carved wooden plinth.
