White Hetian jade brush holder, Qing Dynasty - Hetian jade, white in colour with a satin finish. It is rectangular in shape with rounded corners, and its four sides are decorated with fine incised designs depicting the ‘Four Noble Plants’: orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum and plum. Each motif is accompanied by an incised calligraphic inscription. The base of the jade bears the four-character inscription ‘雅谦玩齐’. It rests on a carved hardwood plinth, decorated with scrollwork motifs. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912). Size: 6.2 x 4.5 x 4.5 cm Weight: 125 g
