Doll with trunk ‘S & C’ (Franz Schmidt / Cuno & Otto Dressel), Germany, c. 1910–1915 - Porcelain doll with a trousseau trunk, produced by the renowned Puppenfabrik Georgenthal, a firm founded by Franz Schmidt together with brothers Cuno and Otto Dressel in Thuringia. The doll has a bisque head engraved with ‘S & C Germany 3’ and closed eyes. Original composite body; includes its wooden and metal travel trunk with interchangeable period costumes in piqué and silk, plus accessories.
