Polvorera anglo-india tallada en coco con embocadura en metal S. XVIIII.
Anglo-Indian powder bowl carved in coconut with metal mouthpiece S. XVIIII.
The embouchure starts from a masculine mask with bone eyes. With a decoration of flowers and intertwined branches and on one side the Knight's Cross with five arms of the National Order of the Legion of Honor is represented, following the model of the Third Republic.
These types of pieces were made by sailors or soldiers who visited the East Indies, during long voyages. Coconut shells were best carved while they were still fresh and there are examples made by the French, English, Portuguese and Spanish. Later metal support.
Length: 16 cm.
