Master of Arévalo. Active in Avila and Valladolid. Late 15th century. - ”The wedding vows of the Virgin Mary” and ”Birth of the Virgin Mary” Tempera and gold on panel. Originally from the same Altarpiece The Master of Arévalo was given his name for the creation of the High Altar at the Church of Saint Michael in Arévalo. According to Post, although he was influenced by the work of the Master of San Marcial and the Hispano-Flemish tradition, the Master of Arévalo already has a less harsh style, closer to the birth of the spirit of the Renaissance.
