Manuel Caro (Tlaxcala, Mexico, 1752 - Puebla, 1820) - ”The Holy Trinity” Oil on canvas. Signed. 57 x 44 cm. Born into a dynasty of painters, trained by his father Antonio, his brother Mariano, and his grandfather José Caro de Ayala. There is not much existing information about him, and his work is difficult to find. Among work that has been located, his paintings of the story of the Virgin of Ocotlán are outstanding, which can be found in the basilica of the same name in Tlaxcla, as well as the “Beautus Francis de Geronimo” which belongs in the collection of the Casa de los Muñecos Museum, and a Virgin of Guadalupe at the temple of San Jerónimo, in Puebla.
