18th century Colonial School. Mexico. - ”Our Lady of Grace surrounded by saints” Oil on copper. 41 x 32 cm. The Virgin Mary is in the centre of the scene with the Christ Child, an angel and a young man whose features are similar to those in the characters in the Castas paintings. They are surrounded by Saint Ignatius of Loyola, Saint Taraco, Saint Lutgardis, Saint Anastasius, Saint Louis Bishop of Tolosa and Saint Raymond Nonnatus. In the lower margin there is a handwritten prayer.
