1926 Courier-Journal Centennial Brass Calendar Stand by Whitehead and Hoag Co. - 3.5”x5.5” - A vintage brass commemorative desk display and calendar stand celebrating the centennial anniversary of The Courier-Journal newspaper in Louisville, Kentucky. The piece is constructed from a single sheet of brass, bent at the bottom to form a freestanding L-shaped base. The upper portion features a stamped relief depicting the newspaper's headquarters building in high architectural detail. Two small circular holes are centered on the main panel, which were originally intended to hold a calendar or notepad. The top of the stand is stamped with the text The Courier-Journal in a blackletter-style script. Flanking the building relief are the years 1826 on the left and 1926 on the right. Below the building, the location is identified as LOUISVILLE, KY. in block serif capitals. - 3.5”x5.5”
