A Pair of Louisville Stoneware Commemorative Waterfront Bookends for First National Bank of - A matching pair of commemorative stoneware bookends manufactured by Louisville Stoneware for the First National Bank of Louisville. Each bookend consists of a relief-molded ceramic element mounted to an L-shaped brown-painted metal support plate. The ceramic portion features a polychrome glazed scene titled Louisville's Waterfront, as embossed on the front of the base. The relief design includes a stylized riverboat in the foreground, a large yellow fleur-de-lis, and a skyscraper representing the First National Tower. The color palette includes shades of tan, cream, brown, yellow, and blue. The underside of each ceramic base is incised with the maker mark LOUISVILLE STONEWARE and MADE IN USA on the side edge. Additionally, a blue ink stamp on the bottom reads MADE ESPECIALLY FOR FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF LOUISVILLE. Two circular holes are present in the bottom of each ceramic form from the manufacturing process. - 6”x6”x7”
