A Pair of Louisville Transit Co. Brass Fare Tokens, US .5” - A pair of circular brass fare tokens issued by the Louisville Transit Co. of Kentucky. These specimens are die-struck with a central monogram cutout variety on an engine-turned lattice background. The legends LOUISVILLE TRANSIT CO. and TOKEN are struck in relief along the outer borders. These tokens were used for municipal transit fares in Louisville from approximately 1950 until the company was succeeded by the Transit Authority of River City in 1974.
