A Collection of Vintage Sheet Music Featuring Louisville-Themed Songs. 10”X13” - This collection of vintage sheet music consists of several folio-sized softcover publications dating from the early to mid-20th century. The group primarily focuses on musical compositions referencing Louisville, Kentucky. Notable pieces include When You're Down in Louisville (Call On Me) by Irving Berlin, published by Waterson Berlin & Snyder Co. (New York) and featuring Belle Baker; Eight More Miles To Louisville by Grandpa Jones, published by Hill and Range Songs, Inc. (Hollywood); and two variants of Louisville Lou (That Vampin' Lady) with lyrics by Jack Yellen and music by Milton Ager, published by Ager, Yellen & Bornstein Inc. (New York). One variant of Louisville Lou features a color cover with Ruth Roye, while the other is a Standard Popular Edition with the ownership signature of Jean Casey and various numerical notations.
