19th-Century American Salt-Glazed Stoneware Storage Crock 7”X7.5” - This cylindrical storage crock is an example of 19th-century American salt-glazed stoneware, likely originating from the Northeastern or Mid-Atlantic regions. The vessel features a straight-sided body and a slightly thickened, rounded rim with a single incised horizontal line just below the lip. The exterior is finished with a light tan salt glaze exhibiting a characteristic orange peel texture and minor iron spotting resulting from the firing process. The interior is lined with a dark brown glaze, likely an Albany slip. The base underside shows two small, vertically oriented oval impressions near the edge, a dark curved brush mark, and faint random incised lines. There are no maker marks or capacity stamps visible on the exterior.
