American Victorian Gray Mottled Graniteware Pitcher with Cast Metal Mounts 6”X9.5”X10.5” - This antique Victorian pitcher features a tapered sheet metal body finished in mottled gray and white enamel, a style commonly known as graniteware or agateware. The vessel is fitted with ornate cast metal mounts, likely pewter or Britannia metal, including a domed lid with a tiered finial and a large, decoratively cast handle with vertical fluting and a foliate terminal. The spout is intricately molded with classical motifs and includes its own small, secondary hinged flap. The base is reinforced with molded metal rings. This design is characteristic of late 19th century American manufacture, resembling works produced by companies such as Manning, Bowman and Co. or Meriden Britannia Company. No maker marks or stamps are visible on the exterior or underside of the piece.
