Robert Neely Keely, Hand-Colored Salt Print Portrait of a Young Girl, c. 1860 9”X11” - Hand-colored salt print by Robert Neely Keely of Philadelphia. The full-length portrait depicts a young girl standing in a studio interior. She is dressed in a vibrant red long-sleeved dress and black ankle boots. The subject is posed beside a white balustrade draped with a heavy green tasseled curtain, standing on a patterned rug. The image is presented in an oval-format mount within a rectangular gilded wood and gesso frame. The bottom center of the mount bears the printed gold-tone mark: Phot. by R. N. Keely, 5th & Coates St., Philada. The reverse of the frame retains its original wooden backing board.
