A Pair of Antique Ginger Beer Bottles 4”X10” - This pair of late 19th to early 20th century bottles consists of two vessels crafted from salt-glazed stoneware, a material historically used for beverages like ginger beer, ale, or stout. Both bottles feature a traditional cylindrical body with a tapered shoulder and a blob top finish designed for use with pressure-retaining closures. One bottle exhibits a faint blue transfer stamp on the shoulder that includes the characters S, O, N, and S, suggesting a firm name ending in Sons. The second bottle features a clearly impressed mark on the shoulder reading B.S. & M-W.C. Both items are constructed of heavy pottery with the characteristic textured glaze common to salt-fired ceramics of the Victorian and Edwardian periods.
