Two 19th-Century Southern American Glazed Stoneware Pitchers 7”X8” - This lot features two 19th-century American utilitarian stoneware pitchers, showing characteristics typical of regional Southeastern potteries, such as those found in Tennessee or North Carolina. The first pitcher is a tall, high-shouldered form finished in a dark charcoal to black salt glaze with a pronounced pebbled orange peel texture. It features a flared rim, a small pinched spout, a single vertical strap handle, and a single horizontal incised line encircling the midsection. The second pitcher is a shorter, bulbous form with a wide mouth and a single vertical strap handle, finished in a glossy brown slip glaze. Both vessels are hand-thrown. No maker marks or capacity stamps are visible on either item.
