Antique Mottled Gray Enamelware Circular Storage Box 15”X7” - A late 19th to early 20th-century circular storage container, possibly a bread box or hat box, constructed from stamped metal with a mottled gray and white vitreous enamel finish, often referred to as graniteware. The item features a domed lid with a stepped top section and a metal drop handle. It is equipped with a stamped ornate metal latch on the front and a wide metal hinge on the rear, both of which are fastened with screws. The interior of the container is finished with the same mottled enamel and features stamped concentric reinforcing rings in the base. The form and hardware are consistent with antique German enamelware storage containers.
