Vintage Railroad Style Signal Lantern with Fresnel Lens 10”X12”X18” - This is a vintage industrial transportation signal lantern designed for railroad or heavy vehicle use. The lantern features a square-bodied construction with a large circular clear glass Fresnel lens on the front designed to magnify and project light. It is equipped with two sturdy side mounting brackets featuring integral loop handles for attachment to a fixed mount. The top includes a hinged chimney vent and a wire bail handle. The interior houses a removable oil or kerosene font assembly with a brass burner. While an embossed rectangular marking is visible on the side of the font, the characters are too worn and obscured to be definitively identified. This lantern reflects the design of early 20th-century rail signals, frequently associated with manufacturers such as Adams and Westlake or markers used within the Indian Railway system.
