Elgin 14 Karat Gold Filled Pocket Watch with Brass Lyre Desk Stand 3”X3”X4” - An Elgin National Watch Co. open-face pocket watch presented in a brass lyre-style desk stand. The watch features a 17-jewel mechanical movement, serial number 27964553, engraved with ELGIN NATL WATCH CO. U.S.A. The octagonal case is 14 karat gold-filled, produced by the Star Watch Case Company, and is stamped S.W.C.CO. 14 K.T. GOLD FILLED 6312382 on the interior case back. The case exterior is decorated with chased floral and scroll motifs on the bezel and edges, with an engraved AS monogram within a decorative corner frame on the reverse. The dial is textured white with a damaskeened center pattern, featuring black Arabic numerals, a sub-seconds dial at the 6 o clock position, and the ELGIN maker mark below the 12 o clock position. The watch is housed in a polished brass desk stand designed in a lyre form with spherical finials and a tiered mount on a square pedestal base.
