St. Louis-San Francisco Railway Style Polished Brass Lantern 8”X11” - A polished brass railroad-style oil lantern featuring commemorative markings for the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway, commonly known as the Frisco line. The horizontal hood flange is embossed with ST L S F on the left and CENTRAL DIVISION on the right. The lantern is constructed from polished brass components including a tiered chimney cap with a small top ring. A clear, bulbous glass globe is housed within a six-guard wire protective cage. The base features an oil font and a center-draft burner equipped with a wick adjustment knob. Two S-hook attachments are present on the upper cage ring to accommodate a bail handle. The high-polish finish, lack of a manufacturer mark, and pristine condition of the burner assembly indicate this is a contemporary commemorative or decorative reproduction of a vintage conductor's lantern.
