Mattel Music Maker Toy The Man on the Flying Trapeze Stock No. 460 6”X8”X11” - This mechanical musical toy is a Mattel Music Maker titled The Man on the Flying Trapeze. The toy features a circus clown figure suspended from a metal horizontal bar mounted between two lithographed tin upright supports on a decorative tin base. The clown figure is constructed of molded plastic and is depicted wearing a blue vest with red buttons, a red-and-white striped cravat, red-and-white checkered pants, and a yellow felt cape. The toy is operated by a side-mounted metal hand crank fitted with a red plastic handle. The lithographed tin base and supports feature various inscriptions and markings. The front edge of the base is marked A MATTEL MUSIC MAKER TOY. The top surface of the base displays the lyric He floats through the air with the greatest of ease. The back edge is marked MATTEL INCORPORATED MADE IN LOS ANGELES, CALIF., U.S.A. One side edge includes the credits MUSIC ARRANGED BY TED DUNCAN and DECOR BY LOUIS SONG.
