Mission Style Arts and Crafts Oak Mantel Clock Attributed to Sessions 4”X12”X20” - This Arts and Crafts period mantel clock, featuring Mission style design elements, is constructed with a quarter-sawn oak case. The case is distinguished by X-shaped cross-braced fretwork at both the pediment and the base. A hinged front door houses a glass panel, the lower portion of which is decorated with an etched or transfer-printed landscape scene featuring a windmill, cottage, and clouds. The circular dial displays black Arabic numerals on a cream-colored ground, set within a gold-tone metal bezel. The dial includes two winding apertures and decorative black spade hands. The internal mechanical, spring-driven movement is equipped with a coiled wire gong for striking. The pendulum features a highly ornate, cast brass bob with scrolling foliate and floral motifs. A metal winding key is included. While no manufacturer marks are visible on the dial or movement, the specific case architecture and decorative glass scene are highly consistent with models produced by the Sessions Clock Company in the early 20th century.
