Ansonia Clock Co. Carved Oak Gingerbread Kitchen Mantel Clock 5”X15”X21” - This is an antique gingerbread style kitchen mantel clock manufactured by the Ansonia Clock Co. of New York. The case is made of carved oak featuring elaborate scrollwork and a sunburst-style decorative crest at the top. The glass-fronted door displays a gold-toned stencil transfer with arched motifs and stylized floral patterns. The dial is off-white with black Roman numerals and steel hands. The dial is marked in the center with a diamond trademark containing the letter A and the words TRADE MARK. The bottom of the dial is marked MANUFACTURED BY THE ANSONIA CLOCK CO., NEW YORK, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The clock is powered by a mechanical, spring-driven time-and-strike movement with two winding arbors on the dial face. It features a decorative brass pendulum and strikes on a wire coil gong. The reverse of the clock has a partially preserved paper label and a metal wall hanger.
