Antique Horse Velocipede Tricycle in the French Style 23”X32”X32” - This antique horse tricycle, or velocipede, is designed in the late 19th or early 20th-century French style. It features a hand-carved wooden body depicting a horse in a galloping pose. The horse is finished with an amber-toned varnish and detailed with a dark, textured carved mane. A black hair tail is attached to the rear. The wooden body is mounted on a wrought iron frame consisting of three large spoked wheels. The front wheel is larger and equipped with direct-drive iron pedals. A steering mechanism is operated by a metal handlebar set with black turned grips. The horse is embellished with hand-painted polychrome details, including a red bridle and a decorative saddle featuring floral and scrolling motifs in red, black, green, and yellow. An ornate cast-iron decorative bracket with scrollwork is positioned beneath the horse's belly and integrated into the frame.
