Trav-Ler Model LL-5 Portable Three-Way Tube Radio - This is a vintage portable ”three-way” tube radio manufactured by the Trav-Ler Radio Corp. of Chicago, Illinois, identified by the chassis stamp as model LL-5. The unit is designed to operate on AC power, DC power, or battery. The cabinet features a wooden frame covered in a two-tone textured faux-leather fabric in mustard yellow and brown. The front of the radio includes a woven wicker-style speaker grille and a tuning dial with a clear plastic face. The dial displays frequency markings for the standard AM broadcast band (55 to 170) and is labeled with the Trav-Ler brand name. Three cream-colored plastic control knobs are located below the dial, along with an arched metal plate for power mode selection marked OFF AC DC BATT. The top of the cabinet has a stitched leather carrying handle. The interior reveals a vacuum tube chassis and a large loop antenna mounted to the back panel.
