Polychrome Painted Bisque Porcelain Bust of Artemis - This Neoclassical style bust is crafted from polychrome painted bisque porcelain and depicts the goddess Artemis. The female figure is shown with her head turned in profile, featuring wavy brown hair gathered in a bun and adorned with a metallic gold diadem. She is dressed in a pale green draped garment accented with a pink sash and a yellow shawl over one shoulder. The sculpture is supported by an integral circular pedestal base finished with metallic gold bands and a marbled brown and tan glaze. The reverse side of the bust is partially flattened and features an incised letter E mark. The underside of the base displays a central circular kiln vent hole and an adjacent incised mark appearing as two small crossed lines or a v. 10.5 x 6.5 x 4.5 inches.
