American Limoges China Company Porcelain Covered Cheese Dish - Manufactured by the American Limoges China Company of Sebring, Ohio, this two-piece porcelain serving set consists of a wedge-shaped ventilated cover and a matching rectangular underplate. The set features a decorative color gradient ground, transitioning from a soft lilac at the top to a pale blue at the base. The cover and underplate are decorated with hand-painted floral motifs depicting clusters of pinkish-purple flowers with yellow centers and green foliage. The decoration is enriched with heavy gilded accents, including scrollwork, stylized leaf outlines, and solid gilt trimming on the handle and edges. The underplate has clipped corners and a slightly scalloped edge. The sloped cover includes a single ventilation hole and a prominent branch-form handle terminating in a gilded stylized flower. The underside of the base plate bears a backstamp in gold consisting of a central fleur-de-lis symbol above two separate scroll banners reading LIMOGES and CHINA.
