A Pair of Antique Sterling Silver and Cut Glass Vanity Jars - This matching pair of vanity jars includes one hair receiver and one solid lid dresser jar, likely dating to the late nineteenth or early twentieth century. The jars are made of heavy cut glass in the American Brilliant style, featuring deep geometric patterns and a large multi-point starburst on the base of each. The lids are decorated with engine-turned vertical stripes and chased foliate scroll borders. Both lids feature a central oval cartouche containing a script monogram for the letter S. One lid is specifically designed as a hair receiver with a circular opening in the center. While the high quality of the engine-turned engraving is characteristic of sterling silver, no hallmarks are clearly visible in the provided photographs.
