A Pair of Japanese Porcelain Double Inkwells with Integral Trays - A pair of vintage porcelain desk accessories consisting of two double inkwells with integral trays. Each unit features a central rectangular box structure designed to hold two separate ink reservoirs, which are covered by matching domed lids with small gilded ball finials. This structure is integrated into a wide, shallow tray that includes two oval-shaped recessed pen rests flanking the central box. The trays feature a decorative scalloped rim. The pieces are decorated with hand-painted floral motifs and hand-applied gilding. One set features a pattern of blue forget-me-nots with green foliage, while the second set features pink and white cherry blossoms on brown branches with green leaves. Both sets include gilded scalloped borders along the rims and lids, as well as gilded scrollwork accents on the corners of the trays.
