Gillinder and Sons Six Rib Melon Opalware Satin Glass Sugar Shaker - A late 19th-century opalware sugar shaker, also referred to as a muffineer, manufactured by Gillinder and Sons. The vessel is crafted from opaque glass with a matte satin finish, featuring a six-rib or fluted design at the lower half of the body. The glass transitions from a cream-colored base to a pale blue blush at the shoulder. The exterior is decorated with a hand-painted enamel floral motif consisting of orange-red five-petal flowers with yellow centers, green and yellow leaves, and brown stems. The vessel is fitted with a period-correct domed metal lid featuring circular perforations. The base is recessed and shows no maker marks, though a patch of adhesive residue is present in the center. Two vertical mold seams from the manufacturing process are visible on the glass body. Height: 4 1/4 inches Width: 2 1/2 inches.
