A Pair of Towle Sterling Silver Candlelight Pattern Place Spoons - A pair of sterling silver place spoons in the Candlelight pattern by Towle Silversmiths, a pattern first introduced in 1934. Each spoon features a slender handle with a decorative border composed of delicate floral and scroll motifs that frame a plain, unengraved central panel. The handles end in a flared, rounded tip. The reverse of the handles are stamped with the maker name TOWLE, the purity mark STERLING, the Towle manufacturer mark consisting of a shield containing a letter T and a lion rampant, and the pattern name Candlelight. One spoon also bears the patent date Pat. 1934, and both are stamped with the letter R. These items are commonly used as dessert spoons or large teaspoons. Length: 6 3/8 inches Weight: 104 grams.
