A Pair of Towle Sterling Silver Spoons in the Candlelight Pattern - A pair of solid sterling silver spoons in the Candlelight pattern manufactured by Towle Silversmiths of Newburyport, Massachusetts. This mid-century pattern, originally patented in 1934, is characterized by a border of floral and foliate scrolls flanking a plain central panel on the handle. The spoons feature oval bowls and are constructed of heavy-gauge silver. The reverse of each handle is stamped with specific manufacturer marks. One spoon is marked with the Towle hallmark of a lion within a large letter T, followed by TOWLE STERLING Pat. 1934 and a registered trademark symbol. The other spoon is marked with the Towle hallmark, TOWLE STERLING, a registered trademark symbol, and the pattern name Candlelight. Length: 6 1/8 inches Weight: 52 grams (per spoon).
