WELCH ALLYN DURASHOCK DS54 BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR NEVER USED - The DS54 features a traditional air release valve with a pressure relief screw. By creating a gearless design, Welch Allyn has developed the DuraShock™, a gauge with few moving parts. It is shock-resistant and lighter than traditional gauges. Until now, a dropped gauge would require calibration or replacement. However, the DuraShock™ gauge can be dropped up to 76 cm onto a hard surface and still remain calibrated. It is the only gauge that can meet AAMI (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation) shock testing requirements. In the traditional aneroid design, a delicate interplay of gears and springs converts and amplifies the vertical motion of the pinion into rotary motion to turn the needle.
