The map is presented on Mercator's Projection, centered on the Pacific Ocean, and features early representations of Australia and New Zealand based on Tasman's discoveries. Notably, the map includes some peculiar cartography in the northern parts of America, particularly the ”Mer de l'Ouest,” showcasing the evolving geographical knowledge of the time.
