18th Century Decorative Map of Piedmont by Brion de la Tour 1770. - This 18th-century map, titled Partie de L'Italie, Comprenant Les Etats de Roy de Sardaigne, de Milan, Parme, et Génes..., was published in Paris by Desnos in 1770. It is a fine example of this scarce deluxe edition map of the Piedmont region in Northern Italy. The map is beautifully adorned with a highly decorative architectural border frame featuring cherubs, globes, and garlands. This refined border was further embellished by Aveline after its first appearance in the 1766 deluxe edition of the map. The map includes French text in two columns on either side, adding to its ornate and informative nature. The original colour of the map enhances its visual appeal, making it an excellent representation of the region during the late 18th century. Great for collectors of Italy, France, Monaco, Europe. Condition: A good example with signs of wear. Size: 420 x 555mm (16.5 x 21.9 inches).
