Early 19th Century Map of the Ottoman Empire by Noel et Vivien, 1825 - A large and detailed map of the Ottoman Empire, titled Carte de l'Empire Ottoman Comprenant les Possessions de la Porte en Europe, en Asie, et en Afrique, published in Paris in 1825 by Noel et Vivien, with engraving by Giraldon-Bovinet. This map spans from the Balkans to Ukraine, the Caspian Sea, Western Persia, Arabia, and the Nile, offering a comprehensive view of the empire and its borders. The map is notable for its use of stipple engraving, which adds texture to the open areas, particularly in Arabia. It is an international publication, created with the cooperation of publishers from several countries: James Wyld and John Cary in London; Artaria & Fontaine in Mannheim; Villardi in Milan; Bouffa & Fils in Amsterdam; and Brunin in Glasgow. Original outline colour enhances the map's details. Condition: a good example. Size: The map is comprised of twelve conjoined sections, measuring 1190 x 1300 mm (46.85 x 51.18 inches).
