Two TFL Posters: Waterloo & City Line Centenary and London History Centenaries - A set of two vintage London Transport (TFL) posters, both in Double Royal size (approximately 40 x 25 inches or 101.5 x 63.5 cm). The first poster celebrates the centenary of the Waterloo and City Line, marking the ”Centenary Open Day” held on Saturday, 8th August, by the Corporation of London and the Underground. The poster commemorates 100 years of this key London railway, with slight wear to the edges and some creasing to the image. The second poster, created in 1973, highlights the centenaries of famous historical figures associated with London, including William Laud, Inigo Jones, James Brydges, David Livingstone, Sir Edwin Landseer, and Margaret Bondfield. The poster promotes locations to visit, or events related to these figures. This poster shows signs of age with tears to the edges and some foxing. Both posters are notable examples of mid-20th century TFL graphic design.
