Londen oder Lunden die Haupestatt in Engellande by Sebastian Münster, c. 1598 - Rare and iconic double-page woodblock map of Elizabethan London, created by Sebastian Münster and based on Braun and Hogenberg’s work. The work depicts the city between Clerkenwell, Wapping, Southwark, and Westminster Abbey. Richly detailed with city gates, ships on the Thames, and elegantly dressed figures in the foreground. The map includes two magnificent coats of arms and columns of descriptive text, both within and below the map. Condition Report: Signs of wear. Very thin paper.
