Sefer Yesod – Sefer Bedek Habayit, by Maran the Beit Yosef. Venice, [1606]. Second Edition.
Several years after the publication of the first edition of the book Beit Yosef, Rabbi Yosef Karo added to his book the Bedek Habayit – glosses, comments, completions and corrections of the previous edition. Originally, Bedek Habayit was written as a separate Kuntres, designed by the author to be added as comments and corrections of the text of the second edition of the Beit Yosef.

About his reasons for writing and publishing the Bedek Habayit, Maran the Beit Yosef writes in his introduction: "אחר אשר עזרני ה' לחבר ספר בית יוסף ונתפשט בכל גבול ישראל, עוד עזרני ה' לחזור לעיין בו וחידשתי בו חידושים ותוספות והגהות... וגם שהמדפיסים השמיטו הרבה דברים והיה בדעתי כשיודפס שנית שיכניסו בו חידושיי הנזכרים ולא עלה בידי…".

For many years, Sefer Bedek Habayit was a rare book and many Poskim and commentators of the Shulchan Aruch did not have it [see the article of the Grich Sofer, Menuchat Shalom, section VI, pp. 66-74].

Venice, [1606]. Zanati Press. Second edition (the book was printed for the first time in Salonika only several months earlier in 1605. A copy of this edition is also in the catalog). Sefer Yesod.
68 leaves – without the [2] additional leaves with the recommendation and approbation. 19.5 cm. Very good condition. Tear to leaf 19, not affecting the text. Stains. Quality paper. New, elegant half-leather binding.
According to Mehlman (Ginzei Yisrael 775), the two non-paginated, last [or first] leaves with the recommendation and approbation were printed after the completion of the book and therefore appear in only few copies.
Stefansky, no. 153 in the comments.

Rare edition of a halachic Sefer Yesod by Maran Rabbi Yosef Karo.
