Commentary on Megillat Eicha by Rabbi Yoel ibn Shu'aib, an Exile from Spain. Salonika, [1521]. First Edition. Extremely Rare. - Commentary on Megillat Eicha by the sage Rabbi Yoel ibn Shu'aib. Authored in 1485 and printed for the first time in Salonika, 1521. Was reprinted in the compilation Kol Bochim alongside Sefer Hazohar for Megillat Eicha and Rabbi Avraham Galanti's commentary, Venice 1589.  An ancient commentary on Megillat Eicha, with the text of the Megillah; the verses of the Megillah are followed by the commentary. Printed on the title page: Peirush Megillat Eicha (only). On verso of the title page, the author's introduction.  The author Rabbi Yoel ibn Shu'aib (1455-1510) : was a Rav and Darshan in Oragon and Navarre, Spain, before the Expulsion. After the Expulsion, he moved to Salonika and served as the Rav of the Aragon community there. He urged the Anusim of Spain not to be afraid and openly return to Judaism. Author of Sefer Olat Shabbat which was published after his passing [Venice, 1577] and Nora Tehillot, a commentary on Sefer Tehillim that was also published after his passing [Salonika, 1569].  Salonika, [1521]. Old parchment with stains and creases.  Extremely rare book, especially in such a pristine condition - one of the earliest books printed in Salonika.
